Pointing material is a substance similar to cement and is commonly used in construction to finish the ridge capping tiles on a roof.

Ridge capping tiles are the tiles that are installed at the peak of a roof where two sides meet.

Pointing material is applied to the gap between the tiles to provide a strong, waterproof seal that helps to prevent water from penetrating the roof.

Once the pointing material is applied, it is usually smoothed and shaped to match the surrounding tiles and to provide a finished appearance.

Theoretical Coverage

25-30 linear metres per pail at 3-5mm, 40-60 caps subject to profile.

Clean Up

Point Protect is easily cleaned up using water.

 

Install

• Remove any old pointing material and clean the area thoroughly.
• Apply a flexible pointing compound to the ridge cap edge and smooth out any excess material.
• Allow the compound to dry completely.
• Finish by shaping the compound to match the surrounding tiles for a professional look.
